Nyimba district has received over eight thousand (8,000) by 50 kg bags of compound D fertilizer under the 2022/2023 Farmer Input Support Programme(FISP). District Agricultural Coordinator (DACO) Mwaaba Lubasi who confirmedthe delivery of fertilizer to the National Agricultural Information Services(NAIS) says 8,080 by 50kg bags of compound D fertilizer has been delivered to Nyimba for eligible beneficiary farmers under FISP.
The fertilizer which was supplied by AGRIZAM LTD has been delivered to Nyimba in 12 truckloads in a single day, sending a clear message of the urgency placed on input delivery as most farmers are scheduled to begin planting.
The supplier is also expected to deliver remaining fertilizer quantities as farmers are scheduled to begin the collection of inputs in the district.
District Marketing Development Officer (DMDO) Liywalii Liywalii says his office is working late in the night to ensure work is done as Poor internet access continues hampering the efficacy of service delivery.
Field crop seeds that have already been delivered include Maize, soya beans and groundnuts.
