The office opening was as a result of increased activities through the local partners in the province, the statement indicated.
And some of the increased activities highlighted in the statement includes USAID Project, marketing facilitation through the seven (7) Commodity Marketing Hubs and capacity building programmes for both farmers and local partner.
"Eastern Province is one of the leading agricultural producing provinces in the country hence our decision to bring ZAMACE activities closer to the farmers especially smallholder farmers who are the major producers of grain in Zambia except for wheat," the statement added.
And the statement disclosed that Chieftainess Mgane was the Guest of Honour while the Mayor of Chipangali district and other government officials were also present.
And also in attendance were traditional leaders, farmers from Mgubudu, Kapasa, Chideza within Chipangali and the surrounding districts the statement added.
The statement further disclosed that farmers can now have access to the following services from the newly opened office and other hubs: Crop cleaning (shelling and threshing), Facilitation of access to finance, Facilitation of access to input and output market.
Furthermore, farmers can also have access to market information including commodities price discovery, promotion of Warehouse Receipts System and Tele-Trading on the Zambia integrated Digital Platform the statement indicated.
