…..”But his wife looked back behind him, and she became a pillar of salt”…… (Genesis19:26 NKJV)

Presto! Lot’s wife turned into a pillar of salt. Making these savory scones reminded me of this story. Here are a few quick lessons we can think about as we make these yummy salty scones;

Saving faith doesn’t have you look longingly in your rear view mirror at your past life, but looking forward as you daily depend on Gods mercy and grace. Secondly, it’s possible to still be spiritually dead despite you practicing religious activities or even coming from a good Christian family. A closeness to salvation isn’t sufficient.

Now, it was a true shame she turned into a pillar of salt but, that’s one of our ingredients today, salt! These scones are perfect for breakfast, afternoon tea or a snack for the kids. If you are not a sweet tooth, you’ll love them -definitely a must try. Have I mentioned how great they are with a nice spread of butter?

9.      Place cut dough on a greased oven tray and brush tops with milk. Carefully add grated cheese on the tops.

10.  Bake for about 18-20 min. Serve hot with some nice butter to spread. Enjoy!

CHEF 101

·        You can add ½ cup of already cooked and chopped sausage/bacon to the dough.

·        Store in an airtight container or plastic bag.

·        Try not to overbake them as they will become dry.

·        They taste better warm, heat up when serving.
